Build A Snowboard Rail
This is your sport!
This is a small rail we built with the following directions
You can change the size of this rail, thinner, wider, longer etc. You will have to decide how long it should be. 16 feet is a good length, not too long or too short.
Finding a place for your rail might be the hardest part of this project, I used milk crates but didn’t secure them as I stacked them up and they fell apart. Works best with two or three any higher you are asking for it to fall apart.
I decided to travel with my rail and found different places to set it up, onto other hand rails, signs, mounts of snow and over rocks.
It can be fun, but also this is a very good rail if you are just starting, or want to start hitting rails. Set it up low to the ground and your risk of injury goes down, later add crates to make it more challenging.
INSTRUCTIONS:
Take one of the 8’ x 10” x 1” pieces and a 8’ x 2” x 4”
Center the 2 x 4 length wise down the bottom of the 10’ x 1”
Screw several times equally spaced through the top of the 10” x 1” with the 2” screws
Repeat process with the other 8’ x 10” x 1” and 8’ x 2” x 4”

Add Pipe Now!
Grab 3 PVC pipes and cut them to 8’
Drill holes on top of the PVC (don’t drill all the way through, only top part). 5 holes per pipe equally spaced.
Switch to the screw driving bit and grab the 1” screws and space the 3 PVC pipes equally on top of 10” x 1”.
Screw them in by using the holes you just made.
You can put 10” PVC at the ends to make the exit smoother but is not necessary.
Sand top holes really good to make the rail fast and smooth.
Now cut bottoms of crates to fit, 2” deep and 4” wide, right in the center.
Space the crates to fit the rail sections, and find a place to try it out.
NOTE: You don’t have to use the PVC pipes and can change the project to fit your level. Get creative!
