Ski Cooper Review

If you are thinking about taking a snowboard trip this winter the Ski Cooper review will let you know if Ski Cooper is the right place for you.

Ski Cooper is one of those resorts that is a throw back to the old days of skiing.

Used to be one of the places where the 10th Mountain Division trained before they headed to Italy 1945, the 10th Mountain Division got through the Gothic Line in the Apennines and secured the Po River Valley to play a very important role in the liberation of northern Italy.

Ski Cooper it is not "Copper Mountain" a lot of people get it confused.

The people that work at Ski Cooper are really cool, the place is known for amazing service. Everyone is relaxed and for the most part locals from Ledville, a town near by. It is a small mountain and it doesn't have any challenging runs on the map.

There are a few out of bound lines that should only be done with experience riders from the area. If you are lucky you might meet one of them. Cooper is a great place to learn how to ride, enjoy a few groomed runs and a bunch of great powder runs, not too steep and all runs are very short. The lifts are slow and they only have a beginners park.

So if you want a chill mountain to learn or you are a true snow person that can enjoy a long lift ride with some good company, birds flying by and a beautiful view of Turquoise Lake, this is a place you would enjoy. If you are not looking for the bling and the adrenaline rush and can look at the true beauty of snowboarding anywhere, anytime under any condition, you will love this place.

There is never a lift line!!!

There is something special about Cooper, may be is the people or may be it's the peace that comes with it. It's is truly located in the middle of no where!

The rentals, food and lift tickets are cheap. They have a great lodge and great kids learn to ride center. The have amazing instructors, true lovers of the sport not looking for fame or cash.

Chicago Ridge snowcat tours are located right here and have over 2400 acres of amazing backcountry runs for the more experience riders, you can ride it all day for $300 with lunch included. They have a snowcat with a guide that will take you to perfect lines of your choice.

I believe they go 12,600 feet in elevation, atop of the continental divide, with slopes that vary from 3,000 to 10,000 feet in length with vertical drops up to 1,400 feet per run. Pretty amazing, a true Colorado experience!
