Snowboard Book Review

Snowboard Book Review... Sick! A Cultural History of Snowboarding

Susanna Howe is the author of Sick! A Cultural History of Snowboarding. I was given this book as a gift a few years back and really liked it. I still read it even today and each time I do I seem to learn something that I didn't catch the first times. It is really easy to read and understand.

The book follows the development of snowboarding from some kids just having fun in the snow to a huge multi-million $ industry. The unique way she tells the history of snowboarding is by showing how other sub-cultures like surfing and skateboarding really developed the sport.

One of my favorite aspects about this must read snowboard book is all the pictures, especially the pictures from back in the day. There are a lot of old school pioneering snowboard pictures. I give this book 5 stars.
