Snowboard Academy
SnowboardAcademy.com - The true learn to snowboard guide... or just another scam? WARNING: read before you waste your money.
When I was first learning how to snowboard I was really lucky to have a great teacher. My teacher was passionate about and devoted to teaching snowboarding. It inspired me to later on teach others how to snowboard. I used to teach for hire as a snowboard instructor, but I got tired of missing powder days and decided to teach for the same reasons my teach taught, for the fun of it.
I'm always trying to be a better teacher so I've spent some time searching for good quality learn to snowboard guides. There are a few different manuals online, but most of them I have unfortunately found to be a waste of money. I came across snowboardacademy.com about a year ago after watching their YouTube video. At first I was a bit skeptical because I didn't want to waste money again.
I read their product outline and was convinced to buy. I realized that if you were to pay a snowboard instructor to teach you everything in the outline you would be spending thousands of dollars.
My first impression after I purchased it was WOW! I can't wait to start teaching with their methods. They have a really good coaching system. Each trick is taught using three elements, focused training, physical training, and mental training. They almost have the complete "how to snowboard" guide.
The results, people are learning how to snowboard faster and with more ease. But it's not just for beginners learning to snowboard, it is for all level of riders who are looking to get better and learn more tricks. I was impressed with how easy it was to learn & then teach the back flip using their instructions.
All the off hill training that they guide you through, makes doing the trick easier and safer.
The only thing I found missing was tips and advice on tuning your snowboard. It doesn't matter how good you are at riding, if your board is not tuned properly it will hold you back.
I have been a professional tuner for a few years now. I wrote a a snowboard tune guide that will complete snowboardacademy.com. The guide covers basic snowboard tunes and high performance tunes. Learn how to sharpen your edges, fix holes in your board, and wax your board for speed.
