You need to know the secrets to getting yourself back on top so you can keep riding. Below is a list of the snowboarding homeopathic remedies that we have found to be very helpful in recovering from an injury. Keep your snowboarding health in top shape with these tips. 

R.I.C.E:

    This is one of the most obvious snowboarding homeopathic remedies for healing. You need to REST your injury, if for example you hurt your ankle, don't walk. Just relax and take it easy. ICE, you need to wrap your injury with ice to reduce the swelling. Crushed ice in a bag is good, but if you don't have any you can also use a bag of frozen peas from your freezer. Wrap a towel around the bag of ice if it is to cold to be applied directly to your skin. The best method for icing is 20 minutes on, 20 minutes off and repeat for 1-3 hours. COMPRESSION means you need to wrap your injury with a bandage which will help support it and help reduce swelling. Don't wrap your bandage to tight or it will cut of your blood circulation. ELEVATE your injury in order to reduce swelling by draining excess fluid through gravity.

    Traumeel is a cream that isused for the same reasons as arnica, it actually contains arnica as well as other herbs. Just massage it into your skin where your muscles are sore or where your body aches. We swap between using arnica and traumeel all the time. Ultimate Combination:

    Here is our personal favorite remedy for sore muscles, swelling, aches and pain. As soon as you get home from riding start taking arnica dissolvable pills. Then after taking arnica, massage traumeel on your injured area. Do this before you start R.C.I.E. You should repeat this process throughout the day. Unless you have a major injury in which case you should be going to the doctor, this will mean the difference between feeling good enough to going riding the next day or not.

Rhus Tox

    Rhus Tox comes from the fresh leaves of the poison ivy plant. It is very useful for muscular aches and pains. It is also good for back pain, stiffness, and joint pain.

Wintergreen

    Wintergreen leaves contain an oil which has Salicin and methyl Salicylates which are the natural precursors of Aspirin. Rubbing the oil on your body is good for aches and pains, headaches, inflammation, and rheumatism.

Altitude Sickness Prevention:

    Anytime you are above 8,000 feet you are breathing in air that has half the amount of oxygen than at sea level. Altitude sickness results from ascending to rapidly, which unless you want to take week to reach the mountains, you will experience it. You know you are suffering from it when you have a headache, feel fatigue, and are really thirsty. You get that feeling because your body is dehydrated. The best recommendation is to drink plenty of water before, during, and after your ascent. Just keep drinking water all day, trust me. Sipping on Coca-Cola or Pepsi-Cola is also a good idea, maybe swap some water for a cola drink. Taking Ginkgo and Garlic pills will also help prevent altitude sickness.
