Snowboarding Skin Treatment.....Snowboarding Skin Treatment

Hey what's happening!?! Gel here.... I saw a good friend of mine the other day that I had not seen in a while. First thing I noticed was how amazing her skin looked. I immediately asked, "Did you get some sort of face lift". She laughed and said, "no" but she did tell me about how she has been focusing on using lotions, UV protection and trying to use all natural make up.

I was amazed, not that she looked bad before, but we all know that wind, sun etc. causes major damage to our skin and she has always been exposed to the elements. I decided to investigate this matter and I'm now bringing you all the info you will need to have amazing healthy skin. Men, you too have skin so don't think you are being a man by not taking care of it. Anyone can be affected by dry skin. I hope this helps.

Taking showers daily are a must.

Try not to use harsh soaps.

Use a moisturizing body lotion after your shower.

Find a good face lotion and apply daily.

Finding the right lotion is the most important skin tip. I have seen lotions for high altitude and dry weather made by Mountain Ocean, a Boulder, CO company.

Use a SPF15 or higher when you go riding.

Have Calendula cream or Aloe Vera Creams handy in case your skin becomes irritated by wind or sun.

Don't forget about your lips, drink plenty of water if they become chapped usually a sign of dehydration and try using Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Swivel Stick, it works wonders!! It also contains vitamin E for good elasticity and faster healing.

Your hands and your fingers suffer more due to their constant contact with the elements. Buy a hand cream, organic ones work really good.

Minimize exposure of skin to water. The less contact the better. If it's your turn to clean the bathroom or do dishes, wear protective gloves.

Take Vitamins

Your skin is just as important as your muscles and bones!!

EXFOLIATE, It is hard for the skin to retain water in the winter due to dryer weather, you will get premature aging and fine lines. Exfoliate twice a week. Exfoliation removes dead skin cells and allows the skin to absorb more moisture.

DRINK LOTS OF WATER, To prevent dehydration.

GET PLENTY OF SLEEP, Your body rejuvenates itself when you sleep. Get your beauty sleep whenever possible!!

Protect yourself from frostnip and frostbite. If you are at high elevations, it's snowing and windy or have wet clothings chances are high.

I've had frostnip a few times and at first it looks like a white spot, then it turns red... sometimes it will turn brownish and then peal. Not a pretty site!!!!
