Snowboarding Summer

Snowboarding Summer...yes things have changed a lot from before. It use to be that when the mountain shut down for summer time snowboarding was put on hold for 6 months. NOT so anymore. Now there are a couple different options that can keep you riding throughout the summer.

Snowboarding Summer Option 1-SnowGel:

Let's start with the easist and least expensive option, SnowGel. O.K. so many of you are wondering what this is, well let me tell you. SnowGel is your ticket to hitting rails and jumps during the middle of summer. You mix SnowGel with water and stir until snow forms. Then you spread it onto a carpet and start ridding. The great thing about SnowGel is that it can last for weeks at a time stored properly over night. Also it is pretty cheap to buy. At first it seems a little weird when the snow forms right before your eyes, but it does and you can ride it. We use it all summer long to stay ready for winter snowboarding. Snowboarding summer time in your own back yard, can't beat that. Check it out.

Snowboarding Summer Option 2-Mt. Hood/Whistler

Great deals at The House

For those of you who don't know Mt. Hood in Oregon stays open all summer, except for September when they close down for repairs. It is not the entire mountain that is open, but there is still plenty of space. It is the place to be if you are looking to improve on your park riding. They have some of the best park training camps there during the summer. Whistler in British Columbia also has summer snowboard camps that focus on hitting jumps and rails. If you are serious about getting really good at park so that you can enter competitions you need to go to these snowboarding summer camps. You will meet all the people in the industry, because they are the teachers and you will learn all the tricks.

Snowboarding Summer Option 3-Travel:

If you have the funds you can always travel to the "other" hemisphere. There is always a mountain open some where in the world. If you live in the northern hemisphere and it is summer time, I recommened taking a visit to Chile for some great snowboarding.

The Snowboarding season is endless. You can live the endless winter if you wanted to. Traveling the world snowboarding all year long. Sounds great...if your a billonaire. Most of us are not, so sticking with the above options is your best bet for some snowboarding in summer time. Once again I would recommend checking out the SnowGel because it is cheap and lots of fun.
